I recently visited The Coffee Pot in Bedford, Pennsylvania. This popular attraction can be found alongside the Lincoln Highway next to the Bedford Fairgrounds. The Coffee Pot was built by local businessman Bert Koontz in 1927 as a way to attract travelers on the Lincoln Highway to his gas station. It was originally a restaurant and later turned into a bar. It is one of the few remaining examples of programmatic architecture along the Lincoln Highway. The Coffee Pot was restored in the early 2000s and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. If you are traveling along the Lincoln Highway make sure to check it out and snap a few photos.
